The Dragonslayer skin series, as the name suggests, features a dragon-slaying theme. It has been around for quite some time, but it has always been relatively low-key, until the recent release of the Dragonslayer Warrior Zhao Xin skin.
Before the release of the Dragonslayer Warrior skin, the most popular skin for Zhao Xin was the Zhao Yun Zilong skin, priced at 199 RP in the Chinese server. However, many players felt that it did not meet the standards of a Tier 3 skin, as it lacked significant visual effects, with only a slight lightning effect added. While the model was handsome, the price of 199 RP was considered high.
With the introduction of the Dragonslayer Warrior Zhao Xin skin, the Zhao Yun Zilong skin no longer shines as brightly. Especially during recall animations, when Zhao Xin duels with the dragon, it truly lives up to its name of being a Dragonslayer Warrior.
The Dragonslayer skin series initially only had four skins, not including Zhao Xin. The early skins in the series did not have high-quality visuals or the golden theme that is seen in the current skins. However, with the release and positive response to the Dragonslayer Pantheon skin, both in terms of sales and player feedback, the series continued to expand.
The early Dragonslayer skins consisted of two skins:
Dragonslayer Jarvan IV: The concept and model of the skin featured glimpses of a dragon, but it lacked significant visual effects.
Dragonslayer Vayne: This Tier 4 skin did not have many special effects, but its color scheme was visually appealing and served as a protective color. The dragon’s shadow can also be seen in the splash art.
There are also two Dragonslayer skins that received upgraded visual effects and model changes:
Dragonslayer Pantheon: This skin is well-known among players, with 8 out of 10 Pantheon players using this skin. It features stunning visual effects, including the appearance of dragon wings when Pantheon activates his ultimate.
Dragonslayer Braum: Perhaps inspired by the success of the Dragonslayer Pantheon skin, Braum’s first skin in the series was released. However, it did not reach Tier 3 quality in terms of visual effects. The dragon totem can be seen on Braum’s shield.
There is a significant difference between Western dragons and Eastern dragons, with Western dragons often representing evil, while Eastern dragons represent auspiciousness. This is why Western dragon-slaying stories are more prevalent, and Western dragons are often portrayed as more menacing, resembling dinosaurs. The introduction of the Dragonslayer Zhao Xin skin undoubtedly replaces the position of the Zhao Yun Zilong skin. The price is also not expected to be too high. Finally, Zhao Xin has a skin that stands out.
